Henry David Thoreau: Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other’s eyes for an instant? And it ends: If you could stand in someone else’s shoes, hear what they hear, see what they see, feel what they feel, would you treat them differently?

We can all agree, it’s important to increase interpersonal understanding.

Conventional wisdom says that we should try to see things from the other person’s perspective, imagining what it would be like to, say, walk a mile in another person’s shoes.

“Kindness is a behavior marked by ethical characteristics, a pleasant disposition, and concern and consideration for others. It is considered a virtue, and is recognized as a value in many cultures and religions. Kindness matters because it “strengthens social relationships, but it can also show that choices have an impact.” 2 (Revord & Sonja Lyubomirsky, n.d.) We are a community of individuals, and in this village, we are responsible for one another. Our community becomes stronger when we intentionally and consciously go out of our way to build up and help others. When we live in an empowered community, we become empowered.

ΟΧΙ  ΣΤΟΝ ΠΟΛΕΜΟ

ΝΑΙ ΣΤΗΝ ΕΙΡΗΝΗ

Σε  πολλές χώρες της Ασίας, οι άνθρωποι που είναι κάτω από 50 χρόνων δε γνώρισαν ποτέ την ειρήνη στον τόπο τους.Από την ώρα που γεννήθηκαν, κάθε πρωί, όταν ξυπνάνε, ακούν πυροβολισμούς.Τους φαίνετε φυσικό να ζουν μέσα στον πόλεμο.

ΑΛΛΑ

Σε πολλές χώρες της Ευρώπης, οι άνθρωποι που είναι κάτω από 50 χρόνων δε γνώρισαν τον πόλεμο στον τόπο τους. Από την ώρα που γεννήθηκαν, κάθε πρωί, όταν ξυπνάνε, είναι ειρήνη. Τους φαίνεται φυσικό να ζουν μέσα στην ειρήνη.

Κλιματική αλλαγή

Πόλη σύγχρονη με μοντέρνα κτίρια.

Τα καυσαέρια πνίγουν εμας, τα πουλιά και τη φύση.

Οι πάπιες κι αυτές φοράνε μάσκες για να αναπνεύσουν.

Τα ψάρια κι αυτά μόνα τους πεθαίνουν, έχει μολυνθεί η θάλλασσα.

Σκουπίδια παντού εμποδίζουν τα ζώα να ζήσουν.

Από τα εργοστάσια βγαίνουν τοξικά απόβλητα.

Καπνοί, αέρια μολύνουν τον ουρανό.

Η γη είναι ξεραμένη, σκεπασμένη με μαύρα σύννεφα.

Μολύνετε τις θάλασσες αδειάζοντας τα βαρέλια από πετρέλαιο.

Nα φροντίσουμε τον τόπο μας,

από το περιβάλλον εξαρτάται η ζωή μας.
