DEADLINE TO READ THE BOOK
The deadline to hold debates is from December 5 to December 19.
During this period the teachers can propose dates to arrange debates in which they
will also indicate the number of students and the topic they want to discuss. For this, the
schedule sheet that is in our Team Drive will be used. Before December 5 the participants
must have written which days they can carry out their debates. The success of the project
depends on the good use of this document. Please have the document updated and make
an effort to coincide with the rest of the participants.

QUESTIONS
AND RULES
Each participant can propose a chat or a videoconference to carry out the debates.
In any case the distance, the limitation of the tools, the level of English and other causes
make the interaction difficult, therefore we have to define a series of rules to conduct the
debate.
VIDEOCONFERENCE
1. The number of students participating in the debate should not exceed 20
2. In the schedule sheet, the day and time, the schools that participate, the students
that each school contributes and the topic in which it will be discussed will be
planned. They can also agree on which tool they will use. I recommend Hangouts
Meet
3. The debate will be planned in rounds:

their opinion about the book (30 sec.-1 min.) These interventions will be made
alternately among the participants of the different centers.
-Second round: alternatively a student will send a question to the other
school. After answering, a student from this school sends a question to the other
school.
-Third round: a student will be allowed to ask a question or qualification to a
comment he has heard from a student from another school.
-Fourth round: a student from each school will make a conclusion on behalf of
the whole school about the interpretation or evaluation of the book. (Maximum 3 min.)

QUESTIONS
We will create a document on our Team Drive where we can write questions that
can be used to carry out the debates. Perhaps with these questions we should prepare our
students for the debates, so that they can debate more fluently. The document is

HOW
DOCUMENT OUR DEBATING ACTIVITY
